All guest bottles and no HF bottles this week. It's like a time warp.
Next week is probably bringing at least arthur

Where did you hear Mastermind was all Galaxy? I have a hard time imagining there isn't a metric fuckload of Amarillo in there.
Mastermind is at least primarily Galaxy and 80% pilsner malt. I went to the brewery for the second release and the folks there said so. It has also been posted a couple of places. One of the places was the Fiddlehead site, but they have since removed some detail from the description.

off topic, srry

Yeah I'll be up for my first ever visit on Friday and don't have high hopes for getting bottles. At least the growler policy is more open as of late! More than willing to meet whoever, throughout VT this weekend

So when during the week does HF normally update the bottles list on their site?

Also on that note, I'll be up there this Friday afternoon with Touch_My_BrettSacch finest and a few others, if anyone wants to say hi.
I'll be in town Thursday/Friday Am, then off to Burlington for my bday weekend. Shoot me a message and maybe we can meet up for beers.

If I go, you know I got you. Undecided. Too many factors to make a decision right meow.

You are looking very DRIPA deficient these days. I can probably help with that.

I'll be up Thursday night through Sunday for my bachelor party. Staying in Stowe, tentative plan would be to hit Parker Pie for lunch on Friday then HF around 2. Will probably head into Waterbury Friday night.

We have opposite plans. I plan to do Waterbury Thurs & Fri during the day, then Burlington Fri night through brunch on Sunday.

Ah bummer, we may be swinging through Waterbury on Thursday on our way up, I'll shoot a BM or something if we are stopping for more than a few minutes.

What's meant by a "double mash" in that context? In order to get a high enough OG, the wort is used as mash/sparge water for a second running through a completely new grain bed? Or is it something completely different and less complicated?

Ill venture a guess:
Shaun cannot extract the necessary combination of fermentable and unfermentable sugar for a beer with that alcohol content and residual sugar (read: a lot of sugar must be extracted) in a way that is to his liking. Instead, he mashes twice in a way that is of appropriate proportion, and then a long boil burns off the excess water from both mashes, thusly leaving a wort dense with fermentable and non fermentable sugar.

Sticking my neck out here for this guess, so please heed my caveat that I am just a homebrewer nobody.

Yeah I'm assuming that's correct. Much easier and more sensible than what I suggested.

There are two possibilities...

1) He's doing two entirely separate mashes (completes mash one, runs the wort out, empties the mash tun, fills it with fresh grain, conducts a second mash, and then combines the wort from the two mashes for his boil.

2) He's completing his first mash, running the wort out and emptying the tun, filling it with fresh grain, and then using the wort from mash one as strike water for mash two (I believe this is how Pretty Things brews Our Finest Regards)

I'm guessing it's option 1, as option 2 would leave you with a standard amount of wort and you wouldn't need an extra long boil.
