I think most understand this. But how much do those time/materials equate to? Maybe $2-3. I don't expect the beer to then be $27. Could they do that, sure. Is not doing it ok, sure. Like others mention it's more than a fair price for what you are getting imo. Now after he has maxed out capacity and been doing full production for awhile maybe I'd be more inclined to go with the he is spending less on labels/caps/glass/time etc to like to see a lower cost. When bigger craft places don't throw a bone to the consumers every now and again with a lower cost on a bigger bottle when it can be had in small format, it does rustle jimmies, but a small rustling

I agree, and the difference in cost is probably even smaller than that. I have no problem with the pricing, but I could see many being annoyed if he was producing 20,000 bottles of something in various formats and offering the same price/oz on the larger format. (assuming nothing larger than a 750 is being produced)

No you are not. That and the main retail page have their own individual bookmarks on my work PC. It's a constant reminder that I work to be able to afford beer (and shelter, food, etc.)

Glad i'm not the only one, but I think I have a problem..... I'm refreshing like every hour..... Of everyday..... Even when i'm at work at 3am hoping maybe Shaun is an insomniac or something....

CD4 was $20, 2 yrs ago.

Liked special 750's at $20...much prefer $15/375mL than $30 for a 750.

Won't be buying this, easy pass.

I'm pretty sure CD4 was $15 although I could obv be wrong. It was the same release as Ann and I believe Ann was $20.

Unlike a couple other breweries, I've rarely felt as though a HF beer is not worth the money that I've spent. Although I won't have an opportunity to make it to this release, based upon the style and the quality of the beers being blended, I'd certainly purchase my allotment of this one.

I do indeed! But that beer is ******* amazing and only getting better (so far, anyway...)
Same here. I'll buy whatever Tehz doesn't get. I've bought it up at every place I've seen it. 10 years later, I'm gonna grab open golden blend every other month! I freaking love that beer.

I'll check and see what the stock looks like.

The worst part is that they are worth it usually.

(Please do not change the price of Flora)

It was $20 for a 750ml. I'm willing to bet Flora Art Ann etc $30 750ml will be new pricing.

I would also bet that Bourbon Damon will be in 375ml as well instead of 500ml for the same price $15. As Port Damon was this past December.

the price of beer just seems to be increasing in general. Maybe it's because of popularity, maybe it's because of more competition for ingredients, maybe it's increased overhead. I don't know why. Some brewery in brooklyn just released their first bottle, a wine ba dry stout, for $20 a 375... and it's not even very good. I'm not saying $30 for a 750 isn't pricey but at least you know it will be anywhere from pretty good to amazing. Certain unnamed breweries in California charge $30-40 for bottles of beer that didn't spend 1/3 of the time CD 10 did in barrels. Just saying.

Very simple: beer is under priced. We are all a living proof of that.

I don't know if that's exactly true. They don't state specifically how long BT is in a barrel but they say it's over a year, which is more than 10 months (1/3 of 2.5 years). And with the anniversary beers, at least a portion of each of those beers is 6 years old as of the most recent release. None of the sours have hit that price point (yet).

I guess you could say DDG but that beer is a mix of 3 year old, 2 year old and 1 year old beer so that wouldn't qualify.

Closest thing I could think of as meeting your claim is some of the Rare Barrel releases. No age claims on those and the brewery hasn't been open too long.

If it comes out every year I'm assuming it's a year or probably less. How long does alesmith age their beers?

Either way, my point is not to disparage expensive beers from California... I love many of them. I just don't think $30 is that unreasonable for CD 10 given what some other top breweries charge.
