Why is this $30 a bottle? Wud rather have $15 375ml's (don't get me started about the 2nd CD7 release...which is still not even ready to drink)
Because people paid $30 for Le Sarrasin when it came out without trying it prior.

could have potentially tried it on draft at Parker Pie, Res, Pro Pig, etc...Because people paid $30 for Le Sarrasin when it came out without trying it prior.
Not really since you can't re-cap and store the other 375ml for very longI just busted out my calculator and $15/375 is the same thing as $30/750![]()

Don't take my response as a complaint. I'd buy as many as I can. Just don't like the increased price trend. I could be slightly sour about cd7, since I opened my 3rd one a few nights ago and it was straight butter still.Oh well. Shaun puts it in 375ml to get more bottles into more peoples hands and people complain, then switches to 750ml and people complain. Can't please everyone.
Agreed. The big thing for me is I'm just fond of 375s as I can open one up and not have to feel a commitment to polish it off alone if my wife isn't up for that particular beer.Oh well. 500Ml? Happy Medium??Oh well. Shaun puts it in 375ml to get more bottles into more peoples hands and people complain, then switches to 750ml and people complain. Can't please everyone.
We can crush all the 750's tonight.I see the value of both...like MKtheGeneral said, smaller formats are awesome because I can open them w/o feeling the need to fully commit to the beer lol. but bigger formats are cool b/c they're perfect for shares, etc.
but then again, I have WAY too many 22s/750s in my home so...goddamnit why aren't they 375s?!?
HULK SMASH
Playing devils advocate, I'm happy that alot of my 750s are 750s too.. That would double the count on all of those bottles in my inventory making me feel even more like a glutton.I see the value of both...like MKtheGeneral said, smaller formats are awesome because I can open them w/o feeling the need to fully commit to the beer lol. but bigger formats are cool b/c they're perfect for shares, etc.

Yes since 375ml's are almost always priced higher per oz.but if it's a 750, can you call it an increased price?

If Anna or Florence were released in 375ml, would they be $5?

I think the better argument there is that HF's shelf saisons are underpriced, given how they fly off the shelves by the case at their current price point and how expensive similar beers are in comparison (like Crooked Stave's brett beers, for instance).
Of course, that's probably not the kind of thing people want to hear. Or at least, they don't want Shaun to start thinking it.
You compalined. End of story. Not a big deal. I'm over it. So is everyone else. Time to move on
As for the ones that are sick of " Price Increases " barrel aged beers carry a premium. Be happy he isn't charging $18 a 375ml like Beatification.... I personally don't have a problem paying more for a properly cellared beer being released again ie: CD7 @ $20 375ml when it was $15 at the 1st release
Dont like the price = don't pay it. There is 3F Golden Blend sitting on shelf near me for $24.99 a 375ml. I draw the line there.
$24.99 golden blend? Direct me there, good sir!
I think it could be classified as a price increase, as a larger format should lead to lower cost as the process becomes shorter and more efficient. A 750ml would require less overall cost for glass, labels, caps, labor/overhead (it takes less time to fill one 750ml vs. two 375ml) and storage space. Theoretically the product would also move quicker which for any business there is inherit value to carrying less stock, and a dollar today will always be worth more than a dollar tomorrow.
