i've always chalked up the stories of people running off the road to either idiocy or inclement weather.

And the banana peels... always watch out for them.

i've heard a couple of stories, but yeah, i figured you'd have to be driving like a ******** for that to happen (read most of these stories on BA so it's a distinct possibility)

I think the stories stem from those that don't follow the directions on the HF website. GPS instructions can bring you down some really ******, narrow dirt roads that are really not suited for cars. For instance, I followed my GPS instructions from HF to Parker Pie, and it had me take a left at the bottom of Hill road (where it turns into Jaffin Flats) onto Hillcrest. That road is a dirt road that gradually becomes more and more narrow with more and more obstacles, like very large rocks that scrap the undercarriage of my car, fallen trees, and muddy spots. The road was not meant for my accord coupe and I needed to turn around, which was fun as the road was so narrow I needed to do a 27 point k turn to do it. Surprisingly, the car did not sustain any scratches from all the brush and **** scraping up against it, though it did need a wash. See pic




Tl;dnr, you'll be fine as long as to take the instructions as posted on the HF website.

Did that with a Honda Fit. On my honeymoon with my wife in tow no less. Best/Worst was that I made it through to the highway (somehow) only to be confronted by a local with a truck who saw me go down that way and figured he would wait at the end of the "road" to see if we would drive out or walk out.

My buddy just left HF - they were selling Hommage and Cantillon Iris today ($40 and $25 respectively). 1 bottle per household total (meaning you had to choose which one you wanted). He said Iris just sold out but there was some Hommage left.

Yeah, that's why it's odd. Same price Hommage was selling at up there when it was actually on the website. I got a bottle of Iris noticeably cheaper than that from a relatively price-inflated store in Boston a month ago... But hey, I'd still buy it for $25

Really hoping a fellow TB'er can help me out... I just got a winner's email for FOFA. I have to buy them by Saturday (which I'm going to do regardless). I'd love to go with my lady, but we'd need DD transport.

I could pretty much meet anyone anywhere in the general area (Rutland, Burlington, Montpelier, Waterbury, Barre, wherever) for a ride to/from. I can provide gas money and beers, or whatever else. I won't need lodging or anything (I can arrange that to accommodate the ride). Just come to you, ride to/from the event, and give you whatever you want for helping me out.

I mean, he got the entire shipment for Vermont, as far as I'm aware, and kept it all there, so it makes sense. Not that I have any problem with it (I don't), but how is it legal for him to run Grassroots Distribution AND Hill Farmstead?

I could be there by noon opening (or earlier if needed), and want to get out of there in good time and back to the airport.
Are there lineups everyday? Hows early do I need to get there if I want to avoid the line?
Just want my 3 and get the heck outta there.

Get there around 10:30-45 if you want to make sure you're not dealing with any lines. If there's a big release all bets are off though.

This Wednesday we got there at 10:45 not expecting a line yet. There were already 6-8 ahead of us and it quickly filled up after that. And there was no anticipated release, but Hommage was just chillin on the self. No doubt there would've been more if that was publicly announced. I think we were back in the car in under an hour with our growler limit and bottles.

It was not long ago that I could show up at 11:40 on a Wednesday and be 3rd or 4th in line. How I long for the good ol' days of 2013.
