Well, not sure I'll be stopping by on Wednesday during my Vermont trip. No way I want to brave that kind of crowd if it's to go for the general public.

Ann is the wine barrel-fermented and aged version of Anna (1902-1993), our grandfather's sister as well as the name of our honey Farmstead® ale. The evolution of Anna into Ann is an indeterminate and metamorphic occurrence; only a single digit percentage of all wine barrel-aged Anna becomes what is unmistakebly identifiable as Ann. We selected a single barrel to age atop Anne yellow raspberries from Fisher Brothers Farm. The result is the auspicious evolution of Ann into Anne: a unique, beautiful expression of serendipity, nature, and patience.
375ml

$75

Highly doubt its to go. That price is ridiculous though. Can we just get regular Ann not at $75 please..
True, a single barrel definitely implies it won't be to go. Hopefully it's just for CW, that would be about the only way I'll be making it to Hill next week, looking for a chill environment to try out Poetica rather than a huge turnout for a beer I'm not going to drop that kind of cash on.

A to go, non lottery Ann would be surprising. I'm actually pretty surprised CW got it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Luckily one can easily choose to not buy beers priced out of their comfort zone and still get world class cans and shelfies with year round availability...
That's true, of course. Said another way: my opinion of HF has changed as of late & this doesn't help. I cannot help that a hyped $75 375ml rubs me the wrong way. Didn't SH once preach about a sense of place and brewing beer for Greensboro? According to Wikipedia, the per capita income in Greensboro, VT is $19,396. A $75 375ml feels pretty off-brand. Anyway -- I know that this is an unpopular opinion and so I'll quiet down. On a positive note, I have a 3yr old bottle of Clara in the fridge I'm pretty excited to open later!

I'm bored this afternoon and marooned at home, so this is going in the dumpster fire group.

This is so well said. It's been an interesting few months in terms of price points on limited bottles.

Onsite only. That should keep the mules away abit

This is so well said. It's been an interesting few months in terms of price points on limited bottles.

No one is being forced to buy limited, aged for years, blended beers like Samuel, CD23, Ann etc. Hill has more affordable beer available, and spending on craft beer in general instead of cheaper alcohol options is a personal choice based upon disposable income and priorities. Refill a growler for $7 if that's your price point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I would have no problem dropping $75 on a 750 onsite specialty like this. But at some point you gotta just shake your head and laugh at this trend. Being forced to spilt a sky high priced 375ml is silly. Just give it to the CW Hilluminati only, I'd have way less an issue with that.

This is true, I agree but I think for the long time, die hard Hill fan that are going to hope to try everything they release, it's changing very rapidly and it's a huge jump in pricing. Obviously it is what it is but I was surprised when a small bottle of Art was $45.. this blows that away. The vintage stuff I get and it's what each person is willing to spend on certain beers, but for a 375 ml that you have to split onsite at $37 it's just insane imo.

You'd rather not have the option to purchase or pass? Ok...

Probably poorly phrased. But if it’s such a small, “elite” batch, just give it to CW, rather than force people to split a 375 at such an exorbitant price.

The last onsite release of Ann wasn’t priced that far off from this (it’s $60 for onsite consumption vs $75 for CW) and I’m fairly confident yellow raspberries aren’t cheap.

Capitalism is a bitch huh?

I won’t blink to try this beer next week if it sticks around. I’ll split an Anne and have a Memoria to follow.

About $45

Let me tell how much I’ve wasted on terrible beer in the last 3 months
