The CDs have almost all been wonderful substitutes for plebs like me that will never get to take home bottles like art, ann, etc. I've been lucky enough the past few years to have cd 19 and cd 22 kick around for a few weeks after release so that I could grab them. Fingers crossed the trend holds true for this year as I'll be up there next week!

Substitutes? FWIW a few years back we did Ann b2 side by side with CD11 and CD11 was far and away the favorite.

From my understanding, Civil Disobedience is mostly barrel aged Anna, Arthur, Florence, etc. that doesn't get deemed to be Ann, Art, Flora or get fruited. Some of the CD's have been absolutely outstanding, but no wax top, no care I guess.

Oh for sure, I could see that. But after having been lucky enough to also taste the onsite Art they had last winter, I was truly blown away by how much better that beer was than any other beer I'd tasted in that style. Although it may have had to do with the experience of sitting down in a mostly empty, sun soaked tap room on a beautiful, snowy day to dome that bottle that plays a part in how it tasted.

Shaun Hill is easily the best brewer in the world. There's honestly no one else remotely in his class, in my estimation. These beers are so much better than anything else I've had, in their styles, and this is true across so many different types of beer. It's just unbelievable the degree to which I enjoy these beers more than other representations of the same style. I don't say this lightly either. It would be convenient if I didn't need to drive a thousand miles for my favorite beers, but that's just the reality of the situation.

I went against my intuition and tried this on the Facebook group and a guy offered to help but has since cut off communication. I hate to bring this here but figured someone could help.

My son, James, was born two weeks ago on 2/20. As luck would have it James cans are currently available. I’m looking for a 6er of James cans. I have some vintage shelfies (Anna, Arthur, Florence) and local hops (ha!) to offer for trade. Forgive me as I don’t trade much but would really like this beer to celebrate with my wife. I’ll go above and beyond as a thank you.

Queue the “my daughter is named Ann” jokes, or “I should have named him Samuel”.

Thanks all.

I just came here to ask if anyone got this man at least a can of James yet?

There was a similar post for a child named Everett recently which I was able to do for the guy. Can't help with James unfortunately.

Thanks, Mike. Had something in place by an awesome dude that was going on Saturday but unfortunately James has since sold out. Who knew grabbing a black IPA would prove so difficult. That said, S&S 2 was pretty great when I had it last April.

Longtime lurker, but your post made me start an account. I don't have a full 6pk (they were delicious). But I still have 3 Cans of James I can get in your hands. Provide me the details and I'll put them in the mail Monday (don't want them sitting in a truck over the weekend). Congrats on the newborn!

Awesome stuff man - thx to all that have helped me track this down BadJustin and Mikecap in particular.

There hasn't been enough spankbang around here lately.

This is so damn good. If you replaced "Dorothy" with "Arthur," "Anna," or "Florence" this would've been way more hyped.

One of my favorite limited HF releases in recent memory.

BA Dorothy B1 & B3 where also sublime... B2 was good too but was the lesser of the 3 imo... would love to try BA Table Dorothy

Agreed - did a vert (albeit it was the same day as FoFA this summer ;)) and B1 was still great, although I thought perhaps slightly past it's peak. B2 was better than I remembered and B3 I think will be even better soon (or even now).

Ann is the wine barrel-fermented and aged version of Anna (1902-1993), our grandfather's sister as well as the name of our honey Farmstead® ale. The evolution of Anna into Ann is an indeterminate and metamorphic occurrence; only a single digit percentage of all wine barrel-aged Anna becomes what is unmistakebly identifiable as Ann. We selected a single barrel to age atop Anne yellow raspberries from Fisher Brothers Farm. The result is the auspicious evolution of Ann into Anne: a unique, beautiful expression of serendipity, nature, and patience.
