Mt Pisgah has a great, steep hike with a beautiful view halfway up. I'm sure there are swimming opportunities near there

This.

After you finish Mt Pisgah, go directly across the road from the trailhead. There is a sketchy path that leads down to a small dock and rope swing on the lake. The water is absolutely gorgeous. There is also a beach on the north end of the lake.

After that make 156 paces from the light red mailbox, make a left. Walk until you hear the beehive.

Never thought i'd be excited by someone telling me to go somewhere sketchy, but alas you've done it.

/have they posted next weeks hours? think they normally close 4th of july... will be up that way 7/1 - 7/7 and would like to visit if I can work it into the happenings of my week

I emailed about this just to be sure because I might go up next week, and Phil replied that they are open regular hours all week. Anyone planning to be there Wednesday/Thursday? Still figuring out plans.

100% recommend Lake Willoughby/Mt. Pisgah. One of the most beautiful spots in New England IMO.

I'm trying to update my spreadsheet for HF releases - I think I'm missing a Damon or two. Hope someone here might be able to help me...

Damon - El Desarollo (Onsite Only)
Damon - Kieni (onsite)
Port Damon (1/4/17)
Damon (6/15/16)
Port Damon (12/11/13)
DB Damon (9/25/13)
Damon (9/11/13)
Bourbon Damon (7/3/13)
Port Damon (7/3/13)

I must be missing a release or two between December 2013 and June 2016, right?

Nope, think you are just missing Damon 2011

Also what is Bourbon Damon?

Looks like you're missing a DB Damon release

I'm sure this has been covered before so bare with me. I'm headed up in 3 weeks and am looking for nearby hikes (preferably with a nice viewpoint) and local swimming holes/lakes. I've already done Shadow lake swims, so maybe somewhere else. Thanks in advance!

On Wednesday I hiked Mt. Norris, which is up 100 between Morrisville and Jay, then paddled Lake Eden which is right at the base. Nice hike or nearby is a great stretch of the Long Trail off of 118 that includes Devil’s Gulch and Belvedere Fire Tower, which has one of the best views in the NEK.

Also what is Bourbon Damon?
My notes show Bourbon Damon and Port Damon released on the same day (7/3/13) - perhaps the old HF website simply specified "Bourbon" to differentiate it from the Port version? It was also the first release since 2011(?) I believe.

Any rough idea when that might have been? I see a 2016 on Untappd, added 12/28/16, which would indicate silent release that day (Wednesday)?
It was a CW exclusive but released in the taproom, I had it there early Jan 2017

Maybe email the brewery with details on your project and specific questions about older releases and see what comes back

You really take your job seriously...12/28/16 was the day though, yes.

To Marc's point though, what is the difference between "Damon" and "Bourbon Damon?"

Just reserved an AirBnb in Glover, I'll be there Wednesday and probably Thursday as well. Definitely interested in sharing bottles.

Beers used to get announced as upcoming a lot more back then. There was no port damon or "bourbon" damon release in July 2013. The December port damon I feel like was a little earlier than that, like October or November, but it could have been December. That was definitely the first port damon release.

The batch of Damon released together with DB Damon on 9/26/13 had been available for a couple of weeks prior, but never before. Other than the 2011 one. And the homebrew ones.

The only beers released that summer if I recall were MC1 & 2, CD6, Geneology of Morals, Phenomenology of Spirit, and maybe Prologemena?

Loons might be my new favorite bird. A group of us just went camping at Green River Reservoir. Holy crap the sound of loons in the night while sitting on the open air outhouse sounded like a pack of coyotes. Then to see them on the lake the next day, so innocent, amazing. They dive down and stay under for minutes at a time.

I think Elaborative 1 was released with Prolegomena on June 5th and MC1/2 and CD6 were like the 27th. I only remember because I did cannonball runs for both from PA. Still can't believe I did that...

But yes, the rest is accurate. GoM and PoS were released in July. "Bourbon" Damon was released before the clusterfuck that ended special bottle releases and they held some back for said clusterfuck. So on 9/26, they released "Bourbon" Damon, DBD, Flora, and Flora Satsuma.

I have a picture of their beer board from 6/1/13 and under bottles it says Next: elaborative 1, prolegomena and MC. So I can only assume that happened that month.

I'll remove the references to "Bourbon" in my spreadsheet.

More on this from facesnorth and a bit more digging on my part.

Definitely interesting! I went back through my references, and found a January 2013 post noting an expected "Damon: Bourbon Versions" and "Damon: Port Versions" expected for July 2013.

In addition, the first CW members were advertised to receive Damon (Bourbon), Damon (Port), and Damon (DB).

And your reference to Damon + DB Damon on 9/26/13 being available earlier - great catch! Originally released 9/20/13!

Yes!! How could I forget Elab 1. I absolutely loved that beer. The walnut was perfect for the style.

How was this? You paddled in?

That we did. Rented 3 canoes and a kayak from Mad River Canoe, they dropped them off and picked them up. Our site wasn't close. We paddled several trips as we had coolers full of food and beer, and we hauled a ton of firewood over. The way back was much easier as we stashed the gear in empty coolers.

Yeah, it’s beautiful to hear one calling across the water. But if you’ve got them doing that tremolo next to your tent at night forget it, there will be no sleep!
