Celebrating a milestone with my wife over the weekend. This recent batch of Birth of Tragedy was the winner for me (though all 4 were great). She was partial to the Phenomenology. (Sorry for the large pic)

Congrats on the milestone (srs)! I'm sorry, but it's ironic that you'd celebrate with a beer named Birth of Tragedy!

Can't speak for everyone, but I'm excited. rwitter any plans as to where in NC?
Most likely going back to eastern nc for the time being. We don't really have solid plans yet. Looking into options at the moment. Hoping to find a place contract brew and start spreading the beer around the state. Maybe someday get to point we can build our own.

I checked out your guy's roadmap and saw that you plan on going through Big Sur on your way up to Santa Cruz. Just want to let you know that there were numerous mudslides this past winter that has essentially cut off Big Sur for the next several months due to several bridges needing to be fixed or replaced altogether. If your looking for great hikes along the way I would recommend Pinnacles or a hike in the Santa Cruz mountains near Sante.

This Wednesday, April 12, we release a new batch of E. in the bottle shop!

E. is for Edward (1917-2002), my grandfather, as well as the name of the first beer that I brewed in my brewery on March 30, 2010. E. is for Easter; brewing in Denmark revealed a European tradition of crafting Easter (Påske) beer. Finally, E. is for entelechy, the continued actualization of our potential through spirited effort and vision. Thus, in honor of E., to the past and future emprises here on Hill Road, we offer this special beer: Edward fermented with our Farmstead yeast, aged in oak barrels, dry-hopped with Galaxy hops and bottled conditioned.

750ml, $30, limit 3 per person (credit card and matching ID required, please see our bottle release policy).

We are open in Retail Wednesday - Saturday, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
