I brewed a chocolate stout from brewers best . two weeks in primary, gravity at1.024, one week in sec and still 1.024. the original gravity was 1.062, used s04 for yeast. at this time can I add another pkg s04 to see if the final gravity will come down to 1.015 as recipe says

You could try but chances are that it would not change anything. You could be better of pitching a yeast with higher attenuation than s04.

I pitched a package of Nottingham and waited 2 weeks checked gravity, at 1.022 not a noticeable change. Bottled it and kept it at 68 degrees for 2 weeks. It tastes fine and very smooth, I guess my worry was for nothing thanks for your input

It's my understanding when you're working with extract it may contain a higher level of unfermentables.
A kit for heavier porter or stout along with a yeast that has a lower alcohol tolerance will tend to give sweeter beer.

This can worry folks sometimes and lead them to think the ferment is unfinished. In the description for the beer it lists 36-40 IBU, so compared to the finished gravity you have I'd say this is about right. Adding the Nottingham didn't change much because that yeast won't metabolize the complex sugars and dextrins, either.
