I have been a batch sparger from day one. I had a few stuck run offs and some low efficiency numbers but all in all I have been successful. I ran across the Brew Bag somewhere (probably here) and decided to give it a try. I have brewed three batches with this filter bag in my MLT while still batch sparging and my efficiency numbers have shot up from high 60(s) and low 70(s) to high 80(s) each time. I am getting all the wort out of the MLT where before I now realize I was loosing wort to my equipment or grain bed. Just for giggles, today I didn't even Vorlauf and got not one grain particle in my kettle. I simply open the drain valve until all wort is gone, lift the bag and more wort pours out. Batch Sparge and repeat. Clean up is nothing more than dump the bag into a plastic bag to take to the farmer with chickens down the road and rinse it and the MLT out. While not a true BIAB set-up, it has really helped me. I am just a Homebrewer with no affiliation with this (or any) company. Just trying to give folks an idea of how this product helped me.
