I write from Italy (Tuscany to be precise), but in the last years I live for a couple of months in Belgium. So you understand where I got the idea to begin homebrewing ;-)

I realized that it is true that "beer do not exist: beers exist", and in that country i tasted so many styles I liked but that I could not find at home (unless ordering online). So began brewing tafel, wit, dubbel, but also IGAs using the grapes which are grown everywhere in Italy.

In these three years I read a lot, and the threads in this forum were really useful. Now I encountered a problem and I'm asking advice (see at https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/help-needed-for-gushing.736142/)

Welcome. My wife and I traveled in Tuscany a number of years ago and stumbled upon Barrificio San Quirico. It offered a nice change of pace from the Tuscan wine and grappa (which was fantastic).

And if you ever come back, between San Quirico and Pienza there is Brasseria della Fonte, one of italian best micro brewery... ;-)

I can't help you with your interesting chestnut brewing problem, but welcome. And I've been to Siena, enjoyed exploring the surrounding vineyards. Learned a lot about Brunello di Montalcino, still have a few bottles... Cheers!

We had a couple of different beers in kegs from Baladin brewery. Interesting beers.
I grabbed the plastic kegs after they were empty and use one for brett beer on tap and another for best bitter from the beer engine. Handy size at 24 litres and have been very durable.

You are probably aware of their open beers project with recipes for several of their beers.
