Hi everyone!!

I am a new brewer from Charlotte, NC. I won my fantasy football league this year and the winnings were enough for me to purchase a deluxe two stage brewing system! I made my first batch on Saturday and it is a Saison clone. Can't wait!!

Looking forward to many more!

Welcome! I'm a new brewer as well. Brewed my first batch on 12/15 and second batch on 12/31. I'm sure you will find this site to be a huge resource as I have! Did you get your equipment online or from Alt. Beverage?

Welcome! I'm another newbie from NC (a little north of the Charlotte folks). I have a pale ale in the fermenter, and so far the waiting is the hardest part!

@djevans3 - Thanks! You and I were brewing on the same day then. I did my first 12/31. I grabbed my stuff from Alt Bev. They were having an end of the year 30% off sale so I got a really good deal on a deluke two stage. So far the site has been great!

@fraubrauen - You're not kidding that waiting is the hardest part! I guess it gets easier the more you do, but the first one is killing me. I am already thinking of what beer to do next and I haven't even tasted the first one. I can see this will be a fun hobby!

@NCSUpra - Thanks!

Welcome. I'm in Concord and did first batch on 12/01. Had a couple of my own brews watching Packers and Badgers this weekend, from WI way back when. Mine were drinkable but disappointing, but was pretty cool to pour and enjoy. Wife still thinks I'm going to poison myself.

Nice! Concord is just up the street from me. I am over near Harrisburg. Kind of funny comment about the poison thing. My wife hasn't really commented on this whole exploaration yet, but when the beer turns out like motor oil I will expect some fun comments from her as well!

Here in Charlotte. Been brewing for about 3 years. Welcome to the club. Alternative Beverage is the lhbs around.

I've been going to the location in Mooresville since that is where I work and the guys there are very friendly and helpful as far as recommending the yeast to go with kits, etc. I'm hoping to brew my next beer by picking my own extracts, steeping grains, etc and see how I come out.

lots of carolinians... (I'll even include you yankee carpetbaggers ;-) )

Welcome!:rockin:

For those in Charlotte look for Triple C Brewing coming soon. If you know where Alt bev is it is right up south blvd behind the Pepsi plant near Mac's. They should have beer flowing in April. They are currently doing construction.

I do miss Charlotte, move to DC last year for work.

Birdsong seems to be another one. Apparently it's next to NoDa. Wish we'd get one up here in Concord. I'm about as energetic as Homer Simpson these days, not too often I can be bothered to drive south of Harris blvd.

I don't go into CLT much either, but highly recommend making the drive over to Taco Mac's new location in Huntersville. I haven't been to the ones in University or South Park, but there are 100 beers on tap plus more in bottles. They have Four Friends, OMB, Highland, Red Oak, and Duck Rabbit brews which are all local to NC.

I have been to the University Taco Mac, it's nice. Taco Mac is a little too commercialized for me. It feels like an Applebees on steroids. If you really want a good place to spend your time go to the Flying Saucer on Tryon. Hands down my favorite bar in Charlotte. They have just as many beers as Taco Mac but the atmosphere is much much better.

If you're on the north side of Charlotte you should check out Brickhouse Tavern in Davidson, they've got a decent number of NC brews on tap, and a great restaurant to boot. I just visited for the first time last weekend and enjoyed the heck out of a Highland's Oatmeal Porter on tap, love that stuff.

Hey there North Carolinians's I'm up in NE NC in Elizabeth City, wish we had as good of a seen here as you guys in the mid-west of the state.
Cheers!
