Welcome to the community. I haven't been at it long but I can tell you that I have learned way more than I could have imagined at this point. Hope to see you around!

welcome to HBT. this is your resource for any questions you may have. always do a search for the question you have as someone has probably asked it and had it answered.

Pointer number 1: Have fun!
Pointer number 2: Sanitation, Sanitation, Sanitation.

Read up on the hobby and the science. The more your learn, the better off you'll be.

are any of your friends homebrewers? A second set of eyes/hands/wisdom is beneficial in assuring your first batch goes as planned. I recommend it if possible.

Isn't that where they shot the Mel Gibson movie "Signs"? Had a fellow grad @ U of Alabama from there....last name Koffel....can't remember the first...anyway, welcome!

Southeastern PA is a great place for homebrewers. Lots of local shops, big clubs, and events/competitions happening year round.

I grew up in Warminster, on Centennial road. Actually I am heading to my childhood home tomorrow into Sat so my wife can hang with my mom. Feel free to hit me up with any questions. I will be around a few times in the next few weeks with the holidays and all.

Obviously sanitation is key. Familiarizing yourself with the recipe that came with your kit and the brewing process will help a ton, ask any questions you may have here. Also, have some ice on hand if you're going to do an ice bath, I used to overlook that and never had enough ice to make a good ice bath. And have fun, good luck!
