been reading and enjoying all the info and stories here on HBT. got a mr. beer this morning under the tree and i'm ready to get started. tomorrow i'll brew up a mr. beer wit bier, and i'll be picking up a free fridge off craigslist to get a head start on the kegerator portion of the madness.

thanks to all the site's contributors, i hope to have something useful to add myself soon.

Cheers and happy holidays,

mr. beer... and a kegerator??? well good luck... Just play with the Mr.beer for while.. then go buy a good kit... dont get discouraged and welcom to the forum... have fun

Cheers

well i got a little excited looking over the kegerator threads...

i don't intend for my mr. beer to have anything to do with it; as far as i'm concerned they will be 2 different projects for quite a while.

i have big plans.

Despite the slams, a lot of people got thir start with the little brown keg, and a bunch of us put a lot of good info on how to get the best beer possible out of it, here;

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/mr-beer-read-all-about-ask-questions-46360/

There's plenty of recipes for making small batches of beer using regular brewing ingredients in there as well as a tutorial I put together on brewing ALL-GRAIN on your stovetop using a 5 gallon pot and a two gallon umodified cooler...Don't let anyone trash the mr beer...It's not the gear it's the brewer who makes great beer....If you take the advice in that thread, and ignore the instruction in the kit, you will make great beer!

Welcome to the obsession. :mug:

^^^ what Revvy said.

Welcome. :mug:

Going straight to kegging if you can afford it is a great way to get started with 5 gallon batches. Bottling is a pain. And most folks end up eventually kegging anyway. It leaves more time for brewing instead of bottling. :drunk:
