I'm back in the game!
It's been about nine months since I've brewed beer. I'm aching. It hurts. It's finally time to scratch that itch. I ordered ingredients tonight to re-brew one of my last beers, a Rye IPA that featured Cascade as its only hop.
I loved this beer. It is my favorite beer to date, in fact. It also did quite well at the Boston Homebrewers Competition. So, I'd like to take the judges' critiques and rebrew the recipe.
However, I am not buying more Cascade. I have plenty of other hops ready to go that I can use. The question is, though, what do I replace it with? I really liked the aroma of the Cascade. It worked great. I just don't have any more and I don't want to spend the cash on getting more when I already have hops I can use.
Here are some choices: Galaxy, Sorachi Ace, Amarillo, Falconer's 7 C's, Motueka, Summit, Simcoe, Chinook, Mosaic and Citra.
What say you?
