So i currently have a blichmann floor burner mounted in my brew stand along with a BG-14. These are fed from a single tank. I have been thinking about moving to automation for the past 2 years but end up more confused each time I start down the rabbit hole. Most of the the threads I've read are old and the links in them no longer work so I'm wondering if someone could lend some advice.

The blichmann will be used for BK and the BG14 for HLT. I don't plan on running them both at the same time, maybe for a very short time as I am lautering.

I haven't ordered anything yet but...
I see that I will need to convert this to LP, so to that end, I found an oriface at brewers hardware. I have no idea if it will work
https://www.brewershardware.com/Valve-and-LPG-Orifice-for-BURN10.html

I will need a regulator, I found this one at amazon, will it work, is there a better one? Its a camco 59333
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0024E6TX2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

So my understanding is that is all that is needed to get to LP.

To make it automated I think I will need a pilot and a gas valve of some sort (any recommendations?) Is there anything else? Obviously a controller but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

Thanks for the helping with the I'm sure noob questions!

Yes the automation you seek will run on low pressure liquid propane, at .5 psi (11 inches of water column). Most people use Honeywell standing pilot valves, with a pilot light, for safety. This thread has a lot of info also on it as well: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=116632

The orifice you posted will work and gets attached to the burners. The two stage regulator will work also. There are many other sites that have regulator and hose combos like Tejas Smokers: http://www.tejassmokers.com/lowpressureregulators.htm that com 5 regulator and larger 3/8 inch hose is a good combo and good place to start. They do custom work and will make anything you need for your propane rig. I had them drill out the pol fitting so the gas flows from the tank much better without the safety mechanism shutting off, works like a charm. Hope this helps a little......
