Hello,

I would like to try an APA using Amarillo and Chinook. I don't have so many brews under my belt, so I thought I could you ask you guys for suggestions.

Should I keep the malt bill clean? I have MO/Pilsner/Munich/Vienna/Cara pils/Biscuit/Crystal (56 °L)/Chocolate malt available.

In which order and when should I add the hops? I've read Chinook can be very overpowering, so maybe I should use a little more Amarillo?

I will either ferment with M44 or if I feel a little bit adventurous I might try WLP644.

Anyway, here is a recipe I created (in BIABacus). Should I change something?

Batch Size (fermenter): 11 L
Estimated OG: 1.052 SG
Estimated Color: 12.9 EBC
Estimated IBU: 50 IBUs
Brewhouse Efficiency: 70.00 %
Boil Time: 60 Minutes

Malt bill:
------------
MO 2599 g (98 %)
56°L 54 g (2 %)

Hop bill:
------------
%AA / min / ounces
Chinook 12.5 / 60 / 0.23
Amarillo 10.0 / 15 / 0.32
Chinook 12.5 / 15 / 0.16
Amarillo 10.0 / 05 / 0.32
Chinook 12.5 / 05 / 0.16
Amarillo 10.0 / 00 / 0.32 <- Hop stand 15 min
Chinook 12.5 / 00 / 0.16 <- Hop stand 15 min

Amarillo 0.32 Dry hop
Chinook 0.32 Dry hop
