First time using a smack pack. I had no idea I was supposed to activate it 3 hours before pitching. I took it out of the fridge about 5 min ago after aerating the cooled wort. What should I do?
 
The "activation" does nothing of importance. It's some nutrients and a bit of low gravity wort. The yeast eats the wort and the CO2 released causes the package to swell. It's just a way to confirm the vitality of the yeast. Smack it and pitch it right away. I haven't bothered letting a wyeast package inflate in ages.
