I have an Octoberfest that has been in primary for almost a month and has only gone from 1.065 to 1.045. I just racked a pilsner and have the yeastcake sitting downstairs, should I pitch the Octoberfest onto the yeastcake or just let it sit and hope for the best?

If it has sat a month I don't think it would go any lower with no action on your part.

Pitch the correct yeast if you have it. Otherwise I would rack it on top of the pils trub for a week since it's available.
