Ok, I have my first batch fermenting with a kit from craft a brew. It went well and I can tell I'm going to love home brewing. Here are my ideas for a home brew kit to continue extract brewing and move up to partial mash.

I'm a diy'er so building instead of buying sounds fun and cheaper.

I have a 20q pot and burner that I'm going to instal a spigot and thermometer in to.

Question here, can I use a northern brewer 6 gal bottling bucket to ferment and bottle from for extract brewing?

Or should I get a good carbouy to ferment in then transfer into the bottling bucket.
I plan to not have to siphon so everything will have spigots to transfer beer.

I will build a table to be able to have the fermenter high enough to transfer by gravity to secondary or bottler then to bottles.

Thoughts or comments for a complete noob.

Thanks
Dustin

Going to build an emerssian chiller out of copper tubing.

A 20qt pot is too small for a full boil for a 5 gal batch. What size batches are you doing?
You can ferment in the buckets.
