What could I have screwed up?

I removed the shelves and the door panel, and relocated the "freezer" section out of the way. I left the thermocouple hanging out of the way. Now it won't stop running. I had the temp control set all the way down to 1 and the temperature never stops dropping until it gets to about 21 degrees.

Do you think I screwed up the thermocouple? I haven't been gentle with it. But it's not kinked or bent.

I'm at work and i called my wife and asked her to check on it. 0 degrees!!

Maybe I cut a wire that was/is captured in the foam insulation when I cut the shelf brackets out

You may need an external controller. Was the cold control hooked directly to the freezer? If so it may have to hit a very cold temperature, like -10 on the chill platem to cycle off.

You may have hit on something there. It was clipped to the bottom of the freezer plate. I've just let it swing in the breeze.

Did your temp controller have a build in type receptele end or did you have to wire it to n/o or n/c contacts. It might be on the wrong contacts

Try taping the sensor on the plate or put it back in the clip. It's trying to freeze the freezer. I suspect you'll end up getting an external controller, though.

I think you discovered something like a black hole in refrigeration. Better unplug it before it eventually freezes the entire earth solid.

You nailed it. I got home from work about an hour ago, ty-wrapped the thermocouple to the freezer plate in it's original location. Plugged the fridge back in, set the fridge controller to 2, crossed my fingers and BAM!!, hit and stayed at a reasonable cool 32 degrees and stopped . Now I'll just turn it a little warmer to beer drinking temperatures. Thanks a bunch!!
