Hi

I am new to this site and I joined to ask and learn about all grain brewing already have done some kit beers but I want to take this route I have a boil pot but was going to go a get a turkey fryer and use that for brewing can I use my present brewpot as a mash tun ( and what is that) and what else do I need to do this I have the basics just to get this new hobby started

Welcome to the forum. There is a lot here that will help you.

The simplest way is to do brew in a bag, where you only need 1 pot which serves as a mash tun and a boil pot. The link explains more.

A mash tun is just a vessel that you mash in (mix hot water and cracked grain) to convert starches to fermentable sugars.
