I'm here because I like having yeasty friends, and because I *love* to experiment with everything in my life.

I was ruined by Sandor Katz - I am less interested in sanitizing everything, and more interested in how I can create environments for microbes who will create tasty things for me.

Science is awesome, everyone in this forum is awesome.

Welcome. Have you tried fermenting peppers, then using that bio to ferment anything else?

Hi! I usually use packaged yeast for drinks, but for vegetables and fruits I've rarely needed to add anything as a starter. Now that you've mentioned it though I want to try it. Next time I make hot sauce I'll set some of the liquid aside and see what it does with some mead and some beer.
