hey everyone! my name is ken, just wanted to introduce myself.

i'm a beer lover and i've decided to take a step into the brewing world by possibly attempting to brew a beer crafted to my taste...

altho before i attempt this, i kinda want to learn a thing or two before jumping head first right into somehting i have limited knowledge about.

anyway, and hope to learn, and hope to share somethings as well!

This is one of the coolest, cheapest hobbies in the world. You can start out for about $60 with a decent setup and make 5 gallons at a time. I know this is a lot of beer to make, but it only costs about $30 for the 5 gallons and you end up giving a lot away to friends who think it is also cool that you can "make your own" Check out some starter kits from www.midwestsupply.com and www.morebeer.com they have free shipping as well. Otherwise you can get a smaller, cheaper kit like Mr. Beer, but you will be dissapointed with the result and maybe get dissillusioned about the whole thing. Ask away, these guys (and girls) are super helpful and friendly. I sat where you sit 3 months ago!

Oh...one more thing.....free reading on the brewers bible.... www.howtobrew.com

I'd also like to welcome "that guy"-huh-huh-thatguy...
I've been here for just a short time myself,I'm only on my 3rd batch and switched to all grain as of batch two. there's a plethora of information and knowledge here-Kudos to all folks on this forum.Take the time to check it all out,I'm sure You'll be impressed,I like the galleries, especially checking out other peoples rigs and all the home made equipment(alot of us do this(started to do this) to save money),My wife says it's like a science project gone wild-I love it. Anyhoo-- welcome, stick around, relax and enjoy a homebrew-haven't I heard that before(like voices in my head) Good luck. Shane - Pocono Mt's
