Thank you everyone for the warm welcome, I am humlbed. It's my honor to serve our country!
@ ByramMike - Amber Ales have been my "go-to" beers in addition to good pales. If you have a good suggestion, I'm all ears.
@ JoshuaWhite5522 - I am with 2/116th. My first tour in 05' was with 3/116 aka "3rd Tank". We are a heavy armored calvary regiment. I was born in Prosser WA - so not too far from where you're from. I believe you guys have an Artillery unit in your area. I have some friends in it.
@ EuBrew - sorry to hear about your friend. That was a very tragic event. I worked with a lot of SEALs earlier this year and I have a lot of respect for them.
So I have read John Palmer's "How to Brew" several times over here in Baghdad, and after reading up on this great forum, I am thinking I might go AG right off the bat. I was considering picking up B3's deluxe kit(kegging) and using flyguy's build for a 10g rubbermaid mash tun. Any thoughts?
cheers,
~j
