Been lurking for quite some time, finally got around to starting a Mr. Beer kit this past weekend, enjoyed the process a lot even though it was a bit too simple. Broke down the next day and ordered a starter kit and a bunch of other items from Midwest Supplies. Now i just sit at my computer at work and click the "refresh" button while i'm on the fedex tracking page. :p

Hello to all my fellow newbs and experienced brewers alike. Can't wait to contribute more to this forum.

Now you should know better than to refer to yourself as being from the "jersey shore", being from the "beach" Hahaha. My dad grew up in pt pleasant and I lived in Little Silver for most of my life.

That being said, congrats on the kit. Its a great hobby, addicting, but well worth it.

Well I'm originally from Hoboken so i grew up calling it the shore even once i moved there. That's probably why, especially since most of my family still lives in North Jersey.
Little Silver's a nice area, have a bunch of friends from up there.

Welcome, this is a great forum and you are about to become a full fledged addict!

I felt that happening with just the mr. beer kit and wanted something a bit more complex so i can't even imagine what'll happen once i get more equipment to brew with. Probably actually keep the Mr. Beer fermentor in commission for some small expirement batches and things like that actually.

thanks to both of you for the hello's.

Ha, I can relate. My wife is from North Jersey and it took me years to get her to stop calling it the "shore". My cousins always gave her a hard time.

Yeah, wish I could move back to Little Silver are, but MAD expensive.

yeah NJ is insanely expensive to live in these days, especially if God forbid you actually own your house.
Little Silver wouldn't be bad now though as far as for stuff to do though, Asbury has gotten WAY nicer (well east of the tracks at least) depending on how long ago you left. Nice bars and stuff over there now and you don't have to fear being killed once you leave the bar which is a huge plus.
