Anybody seen these? They are different than the ones I've seen tutorials on here on how to remove. This one won't unscrew after beating it with a 2ft long pipe wrench attached to a wonderbar, but I managed to break out the tube stem and valve. The metal sleeve on the side is what is holding it from moving I think. I'd like to keep the top part to attach a gasket and triclamp if possible for a fermenter. I thought I'd throw it out there before I start grinding away. :mug:

Edit: Also, the top piece is all one piece that screws down, which is different from the normal euro sankes.

A long shot here, as I've never dealt with a screw on type.........Did ya' try going the opposite direction when attempting to unscrew it?

Any of the threads visible?

I see where you're going, yea I'm pretty sure it won't turn either way. It seems to turn back like an 1/8th inch and then stops. I can't really see the threads but probably could looking through the bottom (there is a small hole). I think I'm gonna grind that sleeve off tonight with a cutting wheel.

I'm thinking it is just one more way to keep the kegs from not being returned. There is enough stuff on the internet to take a sanke apart pretty easily nowadays.

If it will move an 1/8 inch in either direction, there may be a locking tab that engages one of those pictured slots........Give it a close look before you unleash the grinder!

:DMore like a 1/16 inch. I did manage to grind off a ring around the holes near the top, and it looks like the pinched part below in the picture is trapped in a groove that runs vertically. Once that comes off it should unscrew...this thing is like a friggin safe though:rockin:

I ended up grinding the whole valve top off and I'm gonna solder a new 2.5 inch pipe O.D. triclamp ferrule in it's place, it should fit pretty well and the extra metal from the ground off portion should help hold it in place. Will send a pic once completed.
