Hefe single- step

Has anyone ever brewed a Hefe using a single- step infusion mash?

i'm sure most of us have. with the degree of modification of malts these days and a desire to have some haze in a hefe, i don't think a protein rest is necessary. some might argue, but i've only ever done a single infusion.
