Do you use the HomebrewTalk Wiki?

  • Are you joking? Of course I do

  • Are you joking? I rarely or have never used it

I've browsed it, but I haven't used it to answer questions, yet. I keep forgetting it exists.

I never paid much attention to it before. I just poked around for a bit.

There's some good stuff in there, but it kinda confuses me when trying to find something specific. I'm also an idiot, so keep that in mind.

As long as you're looking for some feedback...

I hate this website's search. I'm sorry, but I do. I don't dislike it. I seriously actually hate it. I get around this by Googling what I'm trying to find, then click the HBT links.

Again, I'm sorry. : (

Goes to show that nobody looks at anything except the most immediate, front and center, content. With a link on the top of the page you would think a few would notice.
It could use a lot of updating, though.

I feel like there are a few older threads that used to cite or update the Wiki regularly. When I was more of a beginner, I used it a lot. Now, I don't feel the need too often, but I put my vote in the yes column anyways because it was very helpful back then.

Have never used. Generally find things by means of Google site:www.homebrewtalk.com searches. The obvious problems with a chosen set of documentation are 1) it is a chosen set, exclusive by definition and 2) difficult to maintain

I have referred to it on occasions. It's a bit clunky and I find most topics are covered better in the relevant fora.

A back and forth exchange of ideas is better for me. I like to distill out the nonsense and get a better idea on things that way. Also better brewing wikis exist if needed. There is one I use and read frequently as needed.

I have never contributed to a wiki so I guess I'm in no position to judge.

Sorry @TxBrew .

I used it a few years ago to read up on the basics of making a yeast starter. Haven't really touched it since. I, too, forget it is there a lot of the time.

I've used it a couple times, but it's easier to just use the search. My questions have probably already been answered many times in different threads, just have to search for them. Oh, and when I'm logged in the search is too convoluted. If I log out and search, it gives better results.

Seems mostly empty so I thought it was not used anymore, so I don't use it.

Seems like a good place to consolidate sticky info without all the BS. should be useful if we set up some goals and ground rules for it and some people to champion it's content. Should be a great goto place for beginners and a place for experienced brewers to get all that tasty info out of there head.
