I will most likely be out of pocket until Sunday, and I'm working on a potential trade, so we may have to hold out until then.

With the 33rd pick of the 2010 NFL draft, the St Louis Rams select Jared Odrick, DL, Penn State. It was tempting to take a wideout like Arrelious Benn here, but I think Odrick's the value pick, and his versatility should really help them out on the D-line.

Cleveland has made a trade with Detroit.

Cleveland gets #34
Detroit gets #38, #134 and a 2011 6th round selection.

CBBaron is now on the clock for the Browns.

Thanks, ohiobrewtus

With pick #34 (From Detroit) Cleveland Browns select.....
QB Tim Tebow
Browns have several backup QBs and 1 vet with the potential to fill the role for a year but no long term starter. Tebow may not be the big start in the NFL but I think he has a good chance. Ofcourse he has physical abilities but he also has a strong work ethic and dedication. He will need them to improve his mechanics and adapt to an NFL offense.

Craig

BTW ohiobrewtus, when I said OK earlier I was agreeing to those terms. But if you thought I was driving a hard bargain all the better. :D

Glad I traded up to get Clausen, now! Tebow was the backup plan for the Bills at #41.

I do wonder, though... Mike Holmgren has said that he DOESN'T want Clausen, but if he starts to slip he would seem to be a more natural fit. You know that at some point, Holmgren being involved means they'll start running a West Coast offense. I tend to think that he meant he didn't want Clausen at #7 (or wherever they're drafting), but if he does an Aaron Rodgers and starts slipping into the #20 - #22 range, I wouldn't be surprised to see them move up and snag him.

Ya, I totally misunderstood that. Oh well, I still think that the Lions got good value in the trade down.

dataz722 is now on the clock for the Buccaneers.

I think that is quite possible.
However 2 points:
1. Cleveland needs alot, especially after cleaning house, AGAIN.
2. How different is Clausen from Brady Quinn?

About moving up to take Tebow here.
I was looking at the board thinking there was 2 possible QBs available for the Browns at their pick and that is something I think they would consider.
Then I realized that Oakland had already taken Colt early in the first round and he was not available. But I only needed to move up a couple positions to assure the team of getting a fairly highly ranked QB. Seemed like a good choice for a team who has big needs at the position.

and you forgot that the browns are one the teams stupid enough to actually draft Tebow.... well see how much holmgren actually changes.

I guess it's time to start thinking about who the Bucs will select.

DE's Carlos Dunlap and Corey Wootton both seem like good options to compliment Gerald McCoy and revamp that DL even more.

Yep, sorry I failed at this. I got the PM while drunk on Saturday and completely forgot about it. They need help on both lines but I haven't really looked into who is left and who would be worthwhile. We can go with either Dunlap or Wooton.

We need to keep moving. The Bucs select Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida.

claphamsa is now on the clock for the Chiefs.

Speaking of the steelers and bad decisions.....

Santonio Holmes is now playing for the Jets.

yeah kinda odd... hes suspended the first 4 games, and in his walk year.... interesting move by the Jets!

I think it will be a win win trade.
Steelers were already planning on not renewing him after this year and I'm sure Rooney is upset and disappointed but off-season problems for the team. A 5th round pick is not much but its better than nothing.
Jets get a very talented receiver for most of a year who may have some motivation to play hard and keep himself clean. Should make them tougher and provide a good target for their young QB.

Like Buress before him I'm not sorry to see him go despite his production and ability.

Now if Rothelisburger could just grow up ... :(

Craig

So who thinks 2nd round trades are going to see a big increase this year?

With the 3 day format of the draft I would expect a considerable amount of overnight work and movement between rounds 1 and 2. I expect the early 2nd round picks may have more value, or atleast interest, than is normally seen.

Has it been officially announced yet? I had heard on the radio this morning that it was holmes for a 5th but nothing offical yet. They also said they heard that leon washington might have been part of the deal.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Bill Belichick will swing some trades so he can turn all his second-round picks into even more second-round picks. He loves second-round picks like a fat kid loves cake.

Ive also read in a couple of places that Jared Gaither will be moved... possibly to Dallas before the draft. then again, if any team in the league would pay to hang on to 2 franchise tackles.... it would be Baltimore.

Havn't heard officially yet but news reports in Pittsburgh seem to indicate it is definite.

Steelers now have 4 - 5th round picks and the need for another starting WR. I hope Wallace continues his improvement.

I would have expected the skins to take Tebow here, but since he's gone - I think they're going to look to the future here and select Tony Pike, QB, Cincy.

They need a quality QB to groom in the next few years, and the Skins have noted that they'll still look to QB in this draft even after getting McNabb.

Since they really don't have this pick anymore - I think Pike would be the way to go.

I still have quite a few guys available that I like here. No one wants to trade up to get great value for a guy that will most likely be gone in the first 20 picks - Sean Weatherspoon?

The more I look at this board, the more and more I think that Miami would want to move up to get Everson Griffen. I think that they would have taken Derek Morgan over Dez Bryant if he was still on the board, but since he wasn't, we gave them the BPA at a position of need.

Something like Lions get picks #43 and #110, Dolphins get #38 and #214.

If I don't hear from anyone by later this evening confirming that this is an ok deal, or offering up another deal, then I'll just make a pick. I *may* not get back on until the morning, but rest assured that I will make the pick.

The Detroit Lions select Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama.

eriktlupus is now on the clock for the Raiders.

dangit OB!

seeing as how we need all the help we can get in the secondary(and everywhere else) the raiders will select kyle wilson,cb,boise state

i really think they need some o-line help to protect their QB since they spent more time on their asses than actually passing last yr but not liking what's left on the board here.
