ok I made up a batch of mead using a basic recipe from here about 16 months ago roughly basically the last time I posted, stayed in primary for a while and the person who I had walk me through my first batch basically said leave it to stop bubbling and then she checked it and I was told to leave it alone for at least 6 months, life got in the way and I have only just found it again, it is a 1 gallon batch and looks fine according to my friend who is storing it, should I move to bottling or move it to a secondary or what?? don't want to throw it if I can avoid it.

It's still in primary? I'm assuming the airlock still had liquid in it? You may have some off flavors from leaving it on the original yeast for so long. Best way to find out is to taste it!

definitely don't toss it, like pg said, give it a taste, you may want to rack to secondary even short term, like a day or two to make bottling easier but after 16 months, assuming its crystal clear, you can bottle and enjoy.

airlock is fine, last time I saw it about a week back it was a fairly golden colour.

updated with a picture.
