has anybody tryed this? {dry hopping}

i was thinking about dry hopping a 10 gal english brown ale i brewed last Saturday , i forgot to add my last 2 minute hop addition, so i was thinking i hate the mess hops make in the secondary even with a hop bag ,so i thought if i boiled 2 cups of water and the hops in a pan on the stove in a hop bag i would extract all the juices and just carefully pour the liquid into the beer what do you think?:
