So like many others i've jumped on the band wagon of making a hard seltzer at home. (Maybe next one ill just use vodka, seems easier, lol).
Used 6.5lbs Dextrose, short boil. Cooled, added yeast nutrient and yeast. OG 1.050, FG 0.995 ABV 7.2 ish Perfect!
Everything progressing as well as can be expected.
Transferred to secondary, added 4 oz raspberry flavoring and crash chilled for clarification. Still foggy/ cloudy and yeasty taste. Added Super-kleer kc beer and wine clarifier (kieselsol and chitosan), now its not so cloudy but still light yellow hue (which i could live with) but still yeasty off flavor. Not sure what else I can do, or what to change if I try this again. (I did pick up enough dextrose for 2 batches, though I am liking the vodka option more and more as I go). Yeast water is not really the profile I like.
Any tips or direction is much appreciated.
