I need some opinions on if this is a gusher-to-be?

I've primed other batches with this same amount of cane sugar (which I always boil prior to adding to the bottling bucket) and they always get a nice healthy head but none of this excessive head. I de-gassed the rest of them last night after I poured one into a glass (not a vigorous pour but still got a ton of foam), and after degassing, there was a ring in the neck of the bottle that was still there this morning. Didn't notice if there was a ring before de-gassing. There was a large "hiss" when I popped it open. The one I drank last night tasted a little off too. I'm asking because I want to give away some of these beers but not if they're gonna be gushers

How long have they been carbing?

Try giving a couple bottles a week in the fridge, see if that calms it down. I had a batch recently that was overcarbed and would have a ton of head unless I poured very carefully, and a longer chill period helped as well. If that works for you, just give people careful instructions and tell them to drink at their own risk. :mug:

I bottled about 2 weeks ago. I opened one after 6 days and it had a decent head on it and opened another one a few days ago and it had a pretty good head on it
