Today the Milwaukee Brewers ownership again thumbed their noses at the populace:

Just goes to show that the more things change the more they stay the same. The Brewers may have a new owner, but they are still nothing more than a farm team for the rest of the league in a fancy ballpark. If they aren't going to put decent players on that field they may as well blow the place up and give the public their money back. I'm so mad right now I could puke on Doug Melvin's skybox. Same goes for Mark Antinassio. this trade may help the Brewers, but I doubt it and I don't care. I've been lied to when new ownership says they're going to be willing to spend money when it's warranted, and then go and trade their best players for the same old worn-out excuses.

Looks like it's a good time to be a Rangers fan. I always liked Carlos Lee when he was with the White Sox.

But take heart; it could be worse. You could be a Cubs fan!:D

To be honest, I think it was a good move by the Brewers. They didn't have a realistic chance to make the playoffs and Lee's representation said that a four-year, $52 million deal wasn't even in the ballpark. So, they were going to lose him and get nothing.

Baseball is a team game. Giving one player the lion's share of the payroll is a recipe for disaster. And really 13 mil a year is MORE than fair for Lee. He's a marginal fielder with a big bat that has a reputation of being lazy.

The Brewers are going to need to build a young, cheap team that cna compete and draw fans. Only then will they be able to support a big money player.
