Grr Autosiphons

Whatever I do I cannot get my autosiphon to hold a seal while siphoning. Everything will start out perfectly fine until about 15-20 seconds into the siphon it starts to suck air in at the seal on the racking cane inside of the siphon tube. I have tried putting keg lube on the seal and several other things but I cannot get this thing to work, I am probably going to give up on this and build a different type of siphon.

Replace the seal on the racking cane. If that isn't an option, replace the racking cane.

Do not store the autosiphon with the cane inside the tube. That's probably why it's going on you. Run the seal under some hot water for a minute before using to help soften it.

I never thought of that. Thanks for the simple solution.

Putting a little sanitized water ON TOP of the seal..meaning in the big tube itself will help make the seal stronger as well.

Good tips thanks guys, I haven't been storing the cane inside the tube because I also thought it may be deforming it a bit. I never have run the seal under hot water but that does make sense.
