Welcom aboard!

This is definetly the place for good tips. Brew stories too.

It's a bit silly here. Mostly you'll find a bunch of middle-age alcoholics who have nothing better to do and nowhere better to go than to an internet chat forum. But at least most of us have a sense of humor, a strong desire for counter-productive hobbies and the occasional nugget or two of useful information. For example, thanks to this board I now know what Goatse is.

HB, you're here so often that this is more like a home to you. And isn't "homebrew club" a euphemism for "AA for geeks who don't want to quit?"

Grandpa Simpson's Brother: "I've been living on this island with my nine wives"
Grandpa Simpson: "Nine wives! You must have a lot of sex."
GSB: "I said 'Wives', not 'girlfriends'!"

Well, kind of, but our 12-Step Program includes:

1. Make a yeast starter
2. Bring water to 155 degrees to steep grains
3. Measure, add malt and hops
4. Boil 60 mins. Add hops as required
5. Top off primary to 5 gals
6. Wait 7 days
7. Rack to the secondary
8. Fill airlock
9. Sanitize bottling bucket and bottles
10. Harvest and wash yeast
11. Prime bottles for conditioning or keg
12. Lager and serve chilled
