Hi all!

I'm from Finland and starting to settle in to our homestead.

I'm starting with home brew beer, trying to make everything from scratch.

First batch of DIY malt gone mouldy just now, after the steepings, while waiting them to germinate and grow.

Should have started the fans before, but was scared of drying out the seeds...

Welcome to the community. Malting your own grain is an even larger task than brewing. But you can be successful, just learn from your failures and make process adjustments as needed.

You need to keep it warm and scoop it through, turning it over, periodically. Malt Grain needs moisture and oxygen to germinate. Start with small batches and learn from your results.
