Hello from Braintree, MA! I'm a former extract kit brewer and a current home BBQ Pit Master who has decided to get back into brewing. I brewed around 10 batches 10-12 years ago but got away from it for some ungodly reason (coaching baseball and soccer 7 days a week and my wife did not like the smell)...but I'm back!

I want to jump to all-grain quickly, have already started putting a cooler mash tun together based on tips from this site, but figure will start with a few extract with specialty grains first to get the feel for it again. I am just waiting on ingredients from Northern Brewer to get my first batch going.

That first batch is going to be the Dead Guy Ale clone from Beer Captured which somebody (sorry, don't have your name to give you props) posted on this site.

As for the wife, well she is still around, so I will be brewing outside on my turkey fryer.

Thanks everyone! Andy, I used to live in Randolph! Got my bottles from Beer-Wine.com yesterday, figured I would start off with shop purchased bottles and then build up a collection as I drink other beers! Also going to see if my local pub will give me bottles since I am a regular there!

Just waiting for ingredients from Northern Brewer (hopefully Friday), then I can clean, sanitize and brew on Saturday!

The beer-wine store in Woburn is pretty alright, but I prefer Modern Brewer in Cambridge. Quite the haul for you in Braintree, but if you are ever by Porter Sq. off the Red line you should swing in. Those dudes are awesome.

I am a Beer-Wine and Hobby guy....but they don't and won't for some reason carry 3/16 beer line...had to use Modern Brewer for that...other than that they have some great kits to start with and their overall prices (even though some say are high), still in come cheaper than what beertools projects...IMO
