So after lurking and reading posts on here for a little bit and reading up on home brewing procedures and trying different craft brews I brewed my first beer yesterday. A northwest pale ale that came in the kit I bought from a LHBS. I have to say it was really fun. I was all gitty waiting for each step to see how it came out. So with that said I can't wait to start my second batch. Will probably wait till the current batch is bottled since that will free up my fermenter. Looking at doing a cream ale. Just wanted to share with you guys my excitement to dive head first in this awesome hobby.

Same exact situation here! My first batch started fermenting 1 1/2 weeks ago and I had an extra kit but no carboy. I talked to one of my buddies who doesn't plan on brewing anything until Spring and he let me borrow his 5 and 6 gallon carboys for the time being. I plan on brewing sometime tomorrow :tank:

Welcome to the obsession! Plenty of room for everyone down this rabbit hole. :ban:

Fermentation buckets are cheap. Everyone should have at least two. :) Buckets are a lot easier to clean than carboys, and glass carboys are dangerous, so use plastic if you simply must use carboys.

Brew on :mug:

Excellent. That was me when I first started. A week after I did my first batch I bought another carboy. Then another and another. If you want to save a few bucks you can get a bucket, lid and airlock for under $20, sometimes under $10.

Welcome to the addiction..errrr I mean Hobby..

Buckets are cheap. Buy a few so you get a good pipeline going. When I started I brewed three beers before I even tasted my first one. Patience is much easier with a good supply of homebrew sitting around.
