Hey guys, I have a basic fridge kegerator setup as seen below:

I just finished my first keg (a 15 gallon keg of Shiner in 7 weeks -- pretty impressed! lol) and I want to convert over to a dual keg system. My question is, should I:

1) Stick with my current 20lb CO2 tank and switch to a 2-product regulator

or

2) Leave the current setup as-is and buy a whole new setup for the 2nd keg -- CO2 bottle and single regulator, line, etc

Note that I plan to move the big CO2 tank outside the fridge so space won't be a problem. I kind of like the idea of having two independent setups, but I also don't want to spend extra money if I don't have to. Does it make more sense to just buy the dual regulator?

The easiest and cheapest ($25 ish) option would be to just add a manifold between your regulator and the kegs. The dual output regulator will be handy if you want to dispense at different pressures, but other than that, it's not necessary.

But yeah, the regulator you've shown will let you set different pressure for each keg. I use one of those for four kegs -- one is hooked straight to a regulator body, and the other body goes through a manifold to the other 3 kegs.

I split the gas line coming out of the regulator with a 1/4" Y or T I got from Home Depot. This allows me to supply CO2 to the two kegs. The rest of the setup will remain the same as the first keg. This, for me, is just a temporary setup till I buy a dual regulator. The problem with this setup is the pressure going into the kegs is the same for both kegs which is an issue if you are running a low carbonated beer in one keg and a highly carbonated beer in the other.

Dual regulator is on the way. I'd like to sell the single -- any suggestions for where?

You'll end up using it. Now you need a 5 gal tank so you can make a portable setup. Or a second kegerator. Or be able to carb 1 and serve 2.

I literally just joined so I have no idea how this got posted?
