Ginger & Sage Saison - HELP Wanted

I had a Sage Saison the other day and it was excellent. Last night I had a cocktail with Ginger and was blown away. As soon as I tasted the cocktail with Ginger, I immediately thought about the Sage Saison and though a Saison with Ginger and Sage would be amazing.

Problem is, .... I have no idea how to approach this other than my initial though of making my usually Saison and adding Ginger and Sage to secondary. But,.... how much - how long? Whole ginger/whole sage leaves - chopped, crushed?

I am entering a Homebrew comp at a local brewery this coming November and was thinking of using this as my first of 3 entries.
