Yeah,it turned out to be way more popular than I originally thought when I started it. I just wanted to see whoelse might be ghetto rigging things around here.

Talk about a ghetto wort chiller. I wouldn't even dare use that tubing, except it was mostly an extract batch and had cold water added.

Just took a picture this morning The pavilion gives me shade and protects somewhat from the wind and other elements. Of course I keep all my pots and coolers inside the house/garage when not in use. Only the burner and the work bench which I use for the mash tun are out. My brewing buddy is usually playing in the sand box or outside the pavilion.

it gets a fair amount of use. I really love it on brew day because its a great way to hold ice water and prechill the water going into my immersion chiller.

I can't believe how close to home I hit with this thread. Glad to see so many of you are ghetto proud! I came from the ghetto,& bein part redneck,I got quite a bit of mechanical aptitude from my dad & grandpa. Anyway,here's an updated shot of my lil brewery corner I wanna build onto over winter.

I gotta put up some shelves to spread out my burgeoning bottle collectiion (with caps!),built a fermentation cabinet,& 2 tables to go around the corner no higher than the fermenter stand (old printer stand from Staples). That way,I can have the fermenter stand on the left by the computer hutch,then a table over the boxes of empty bottles for secondaries & bottling bucket. Then a 3rd table for bottle tree & bottling in general. I wanna build the tables so that they store what's already there underneith them. Then I'd have a lot less to move around to go through fermentation,secondary/racking to bottling bucket,& finally a bottling area last. No more moving the room around to bottle,thus less setup/clean up. Then see if I can find a cart the same height as the fermenter stand to make transporting chilled wort from the kitchen easier. Not to mention getting BK's,& other equuipment to & from the kitchen all at one time. That'd make things easier on my back & hips. Everything works if ya let it!!

There is still lifting involved, but it's far less than before. And it's not like putting together an erector set every time we brew

True. I could use a cart of some kind to wheel all the brewing stuff into the kitchen. Then wheel heavy kettles back into the brewery. It'd also make getting all the equipment back & forth easier & faster. Now to find one the same height as the fermenter stand...

2x4+screws+plywood+casters=perfect cart

Yeah,I may have to fabricate something to get the height I want,etc. A second shelf would allow carrying more stuff back & forth on the cart instead of me being a pack mule. Maybe with some sort of heat pad built into the top tray.
