GFCI Protection for DigiBoil 240V

Anybody running the DigiBoil 240V on a GFCI circuit? I have a 20 amp 240V GFCI breaker installed; just want to make sure the DigiBoil will work on GFCI before purchasing. Certain appliances will trip a GFCI due to current leakage in the heating element.

Anything involving liquids near electricity requires the use of GFCI protected circuits for user safety. Electrical codes require this.

If it trips the GFCI due to current leakage, it is defective. Send it back. There should never be current leakage from a heating element. If it were common the FTC or CPSC would force a recall.

Never heard that before...anyway I run my Brewzilla 65L 240v GFCI and my 120v Digiboil on GFCI and never had a trip.

If it trips the GFCI, that is proof that you are wise to be using a GFCI.

An appliance such as a Digiboil should trip a protection circuit only under unusual circumstances. If it trips regularly, the cause needs to be identified and repaired. Or replace the unit.

It is only beer and not worth dying for.
