I know there are a lot of other factors involved but what are some general ranges for water/grain ratio for mashing for light/medium/full bodied beers?

I don't think it matters much. I use about 1.3 qts/lb for all my batches

I'm at 1.5 qts/ lb for all batches because it's way easier to calculate strike and sparge volumes. Some styles may be better with thinner/ thicker mashes, but I don't compete and do enjoy my results.
Anywhere from 1-2 qts/ lb. is acceptable. 1.25-1.5 qts/ lb. is probably better. Kyle

I like 1.5 qt/lb. I used to do 1.1-1.3 when i mashed in a 10G cooler to fit more grain, but it was always really thick and hard to break up. 1.5 is really easy to work with.

1.5 is my standard ratio, unless I'm step mashing. I usually start around 1 and end around 1.5 after the water additions for that process. The only time I worry about step mashing is with less modified starches.
