Hey all, my name is Shane Sullivan, and while I have physically been a homebrewer for only 3 months, I have been a homebrewer at heart since the day I was born.

It seems natural for anyone who grows up in my area to be attracted to brewing; Puyallup (pronounced pew-al-up) was built on hop fields 100 years ago, Yakima supplies 1/4 of the worlds hops supply, cascade hops are based on a local strain, and Wyeast labs is about a 2 hour drive from my front door.

I love to cook, and am always trying to perfect the science behind it. Thus it was a natural step up to brewing beer. Anyway, I can use all of the help you all have to offer!

By the way, Wy'east is the Native American name for Mt. Hood

Awsome, I kinda figured as much...it seems like the PNW is one the largest brewing centers of the country (and probably the world). I always love supporting local anything (music, food, festivals, etc.)

I heard this rumor when I was in college near Puyallup that the local beer mart for WSU had an employee who's sole responsibility was to stock Busch light. Is that true? :)

Well this was also around the time that lighting a couch on fire in the street was ok too.

Oh yeah welcome!

Welcome from the northern side of the lake.

You're gonna love brewing and all the experience in these forums.
