Rumor is that Founders is releasing 6 BA beers in 2017. Not sure if that means 6 new ones, or total, in addition to KBS and BWB.

NEW BEER RELEASE: FROOTWOOD
Posted on October 21, 2016 by Founders Brewing Co.
Cadre,
Over the last few months, we’ve been hinting that 2017 is going to be a year full of incredible beers – and we’re ready to share the first of those with you. While you’ll have to wait until the new year (January, to be precise) to get your hands on this one, here’s a glimpse at the latest addition to our lineup of barrel-aged beers.
Introducing Frootwood:
![]()
We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long.
Frootwood will be available in some states as early as January, with remaining states seeing it by February. We plan to release it in our taproom on January 25, 2017 and will have a suggested retail price of $14.99/4-pack and $11.99/750mL bottle. That’s right, you’ll be able to find Frootwood in both 4-packs of 12oz bottles and single 750mL bottles. You asked, we listened!

Yay! Now they can't release Mango Magnifico! Also heard that as of 2017, the backstage series is gone. Replaced by the barrel aged series, hence the small logo, top left of the new Frootwood label.
I had heard 8 total, with KBS and BWB being two of them. I also heard CBS would be the last one to be released.Rumor is that Founders is releasing 6 BA beers in 2017. Not sure if that means 6 new ones, or total, in addition to KBS and BWB.
Most like the recipe for Cerise, or one similar.

They used to have a BA Cherry beer called Newaygo County Cherry. Twas delightful. I'm sure this is similar.
Blushing Monk is terrific right now.
I forgot all about Cerise. Most like the recipe for Cerise, or one similar.

Has it been a full two years?2 years later, and theyre still sitting on shelves... also, terrific is a strong word. Debatable for sure.
We had a thing once...I forgot all about Cerise.
Definitely plenty of blueberry sweet and tart, almost syrupy concentrate. Chocolate is present as is the vanilla. Barrel is hard to detect until it has warmed significantly. I bought two bottles, will let one sit for a while, for science. I don't plan to buy any more, simply because of the price point. That said, I have to imagine the ingredients were not cheap for this, plus the time in barrels.Lizard of Koz thoughts?
Will second this. The tannins in the blueberries really cut the sweetness. Initial sips are dessert sweet like Big Lushious, but the blueberries do a great job of preventing that sweetness from lingering on your palate. Only bought a couple bottles as well.Definitely plenty of blueberry sweet and tart, almost syrupy concentrate. Chocolate is present as is the vanilla. 15 packs too!Canning Mosaic Promise.
Eh...KBS just is what it is. It's good enough to try every year, but it's never great and it's never terrible.
