this is the tiny amount of beer left in the bucket using revvys method probably wouldn't fill a shot glass.

Where did you get that fitting?

Would the local hardware store have this?

yep, just a 90 degree elbow PVC fitting that screws right onto the spigot from the inside ( cant remember the size) it is oerfect, ALMOST touches the bottom of the bucket so I get all of the beer.

Thats a cool dip tube dealie you got there. As I recall, the last time I bottled I had to tip the bucket at a pretty hairy angle to get the last of it without one. An example of something I would have bought if the store had it listed as an accessory.

Ohiosteve,

Any chance you could sort out the size or stock number on that bad boy?

I am overseas and need to get my dad to go buy the item and mail it to me (3 -4 week lag time) and I would hate to have to send it back.

If not, no sweat, but well done - a nice clean job.

I may have answered my own question with a little more searching...

Does this sound like your item? A qoute from BrianP.

Yes, I made a dip tube for my bottling bucket out of a 3/4" PVC 90deg elbow. I think it cost $0.39 at Lowe's and threads right onto the tail piece of the bottling spigot. It couldn't be simpler. Check out my gallery for a poorly done schematic and/or PM me and I'll verify the part number. Or do what I did and bring the spigot with you to Lowe's and see what threads onto it. When I fill bottles with this I am usually left with about 2 or 3 oz. of beer in the bucket.

that would be exactly it!!

No concerns about running food in that PVC?

Many houses are plumbed with pvc now. If it's safe for drinking water, it's safe for beer!

BTW, that is a great bottling thread. I read it all the way through before I started bottling, and I link to it for many bottling threads.

I did the same thing. I had an old 1" PVC elbow sitting around, as well as a 1" slip X 3/4" FPT reducer so i glued the reducer into the elbow and now i get about 1/4 of a shot glass left in my bottling bucket. So simple!
