I know that a food grade plastic is important for mashing or fermentation vessels but I was following one of revvy tips on getting those water tray for wall tapestry so I could put my stirring spoon, autosiphon and all other things that cannot be put to sanitize in a small bucket (So they are fully under the sanitizing solution).

My question is does it matter that I put my stuff to sanitize in a non food grade plastic tray? Because when I start brewing I would prepare my stuff in advance and leave them to sanitize in the tray for maybe an hour or two before I need them (Not because I fear they wouldn't be sanitized in less, but because it would be done before I start my boil and some of these stuff are only needed later).

By the way I use Starsan as a sanitizer. It's also possible that leave these items in the tray with some oxyclean also when I will clean them.

Any thought?

I think you'll be ok. I use homer buckets from home depot for sanitizing on brew day and cleaning bottles with oxyclean. If there was a little oxy residue, the star san would neutralize it. I was just reading another thread about food grade vs food safe. Food grade is for long term storage and such while food safe can contact food but isn't intended for significant lengths of time. Both are hdpe.

So if it's not even food that touch my plastic tray guess it shouldn't be much of a problem. I was more afraid that oxysan or starsan would "melt" or "dissolve" the plastic or small particles in the plastic and would get on my tools.

Nah starsan comes in a plastic bottle full strength. A diluted solution will not hurt any plastic if the full strength does not

You've got a point. Oxy-san also come in plastic, but powder form, so might not be active? But might be food-grade plastic :p

Oxyclean,PBW,& starsan all come in plastic containers,so you're safe there. & that wallpaper soaking tray is good for long stuff you need to clean or sanitize. It seems to me Joe (terpsicorian kid) on youtube uses one as well as some others I've seen. I think it's a good, simple solution.
