Ok, I got my mash going right now in my round cooler & as I'm getting ready to sparge I see that my copper manifold isn't installed! sparge time is 5 minutes away. I guess I have one choice eh? Dump the grist into another vessel; install manifold and put it back in. Don't know if I'm looking for any other advise; just venting!!! :( :cross:

Been there. Never forgot to install the manifold but I did have it come off during stirring. Unloading and reloading 10 lbs of grain sucks.

Bummer! Easy to do though.

If you have a grain bag and a plastic fermenter with tap, you will only need to transfer it once...you could then sparge in the plastic fermenter, and save on all that transferring back on forth.

All is well. Got a big old 10g plastic bucket; dumped it out; install manifold; dump it back. Just recirculated more than normal. Sparging away...

eh! Is that a little Canadiana I hear. Brewing as we speak. Russian River double IPA.

Cheers
